Therapy can begin by scheduling a free 15-minute consultation in order to discuss what you are looking for, wanting to accomplish, and to see if we are a good match for each other.

​If we decide to proceed with therapy sessions, we'll schedule our initial session date and time. Initial sessions are also known as the "intake session". It’s different from a traditional therapy session because this will be a time for your therapist to learn more about you and together you’ll talk about why you have decided to pursue therapy and what your goals are for treatment.

Before your first appointment, you will receive several forms to complete via the therapy platform that I use called, SimplePractice. You will also be expected to submit an electric form of payment that will be charged at the end of session.

I suggest that new clients start with weekly sessions to allow us time to get to know each other and to work steadily toward your goals. After some time, we can discuss whether it might be beneficial to adjust the frequency of sessions based on your needs. Alternatives can include bi-weekly or even monthly appointments.

Signs that tell us when we might need to start meeting less frequently include meeting your goals consistently, feeling better, being unsure of what to talk about because everything is good.

Therapy is different for everyone. How long you are engage in therapy services can depend on factors like your goals, how often you have session, life events, and how much work you put in outside of session. Some people like therapy for short term problem solving and some people like therapy for long term self-care.

We will consistently check in with each other about your treatment. At the end of the day, you're the professional of your own life and I will take your lead on what how you want to engage in treatment.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), I am not able to prescribe medication. We can explore your questions about medications and based on your decision, we can move forward by finding the right psychiatrist for you.

I offer sessions Monday-Thursday with my earliest appointment at 9 AM and my latest appointment at 3 PM.

I do accept insurance. I am considered an out-of-network (OON) provider who does not bill directly through insurance. However, if you know that your insurance provides some reimbursement for OONs with a superbill, I'm more than happy to provide that for you. You can contact your insurance provider to clarify what your OON benefits are or use my tool provided by Mentaya to check now.

Can I use Mentaya to get my OON reimbursement?

Yes! Mentaya is perfect if you:

I run a private practice that is cash-only (or private pay) to provide the best possible care without the restrictions of insurance companies. While I understand this may feel like a barrier, there are several benefits for you as a client.

Yes! Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Savings Account (FSA) cards operate just like debit or credit cards as far as our system is concerned. When you complete your new client intake paperwork, simply enter your HSA or FSA card into our secure payment system. If using a HSA/FSA card as a primary form of payment, I will ask that you enter an alternative form of payment as a secondary option in case anything happens.

I offer limited reduced fee slots. Availability for services at a reduced fee and the agreed-upon reduced fee can be discussed during your free 15 minute consultation. If interested, just let me know.

An email (48 hours prior) and a text appointment reminder (24 hours prior) is sent out via SimplePractice.​ Changes to appointments and cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to session date and time or will be subject to be charged the full session fee.
