About Lan Family Therapy
Lan Family Therapy is rooted in community, culture, and strength, and the name itself reflects what’s at the heart of the practice: honoring family and heritage.
The orchid, or “Lan” (蘭) in Chinese, is more than just a flower in our logo and my last name. It symbolizes resilience, growth, and nurturing, qualities that guide every aspect of this practice. Just as the orchid thrives even in challenging conditions, the practice is designed to support clients in cultivating their own strength and well-being — no matter the obstacles.
This practice was created with a commitment to ethical, values-driven care. I wanted a space where cultural understanding, integrity, and respect for each person’s experience are never compromised. Lan Family Therapy is a space where your experiences are honored, your cultural identity is respected, and your growth is nurtured.

Meet Jessica Lan, LMFT#134412
First-generation Asian American Therapist in California
I’m a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive therapist who believes growth happens one step at a time with honesty, curiosity, and support along the way.
In sessions, you can expect a chill, down-to-earth space where you can unpack what’s been on your mind, reflect, and work things out at your own pace. I focus on building trust and collaboration, offering support that’s both gentle and real.
My approach blends different styles: strength-based, client-centered, solution-focused, parts work, somatic techniques, and psychodynamic, so we can find what works best for you.
Before starting my private practice, I worked in community mental health and school-based counseling, including in East LA, DTLA, and South LA. These experiences deepened my passion for connecting with people from all walks of life and helping them navigate real challenges.
As a first-generation Asian American, I care deeply about advocating for Asian mental health and breaking the stigma around seeking help. My hope is to create a space where cultural experiences are seen and valued, and where taking care of your mental health feels normal because it should be.
